READ:  IMPORTANT UPDATE
Hey guys! So we're still ironing out the details of the event, so unfortunately, we're going to have to push the date of the bike ride to (tentatively) October 7th, and registration isn't going to be open until we have all the details figured out for sure for you guys. I'll keep you updated on the status of everything!
NAKED DISCLAIMER: The police said that you will not be charged with a sexual crime for participating in our event and being naked. HOWEVER, police can always arrest on judgement for disorderly conduct if there is a complaint from the community. It's completely up to the officer who's judging the situation. A complaint made against you will more likely warrant an arrest if you are completely naked than if you are in your underwear, body paint, or costume. For our event we encourage you to wear underwear, body paint, or costumes so that we have the least amount of problems, thanks!!__

NAKED* BIKE RIDE
*As naked as you want to be

Presented by Amnesty International

THE CAUSE
Join Amnesty as they organize their first (hopefully) annual Naked Bike Ride on the evening of Friday, October 7, to raise awareness about women’s rights, gas dependency, and healthy body image.  We’ll begin the evening with a rally to get everyone excited, followed by a strip—after which people can literally donate the clothes off their back—and then the actual ride.  All donations will go to a local shelter.
And remember:  the nakedness is optional!  You can ride in your underwear, a costume (there will be prizes for the most creative), or even just normal clothes.  We just want your support!

NO BIKE?  NO PROBLEM.
Even though it’s called a Naked BIKE Ride, you don’t have to have a bike on campus to participate. It’s not a problem at all—you’re welcome to skateboard, rollerblade, run, or walk. We’ll even have an adjusted route for people who don’t want to use the longer bike route.

JOIN US
You and your friends can join us at the Naked Bike Ride for just $5, which will also be donated.  Registration opens on Friday, September 23, and you can either pay by using the PayPal button and adding your name to the registration form (both will be posted once registration opens)
or by paying cash at our registration booth on the quad.
The first 50 people to register will receive a free shirt.

If you have any questions about the ride or Amnesty in general, email Chrissy at ruiz21@illinois.edu.  Hope to see you there!
